Dance Workshops
This year will again see Dance Workshops for the younger Speyfest people with dance sessions running all week in the Scout hall between 11:00am and 1:00pm with a performance in the Festival Club sometime over the weekend. Booking for workshops at the Speyfest ticket office from 5th July.
Fčis Workshops
This year sees Speyfest in a joint partnership with local Fčisean and The Treacherous Orchestra to offer workshops promoting interest in young people getting access to Scottish traditional music.
www.feisspe.org.ukWe will provide a series of tutoring workshops in The Fochabers Institute on Sat. 31st July on the following instruments:
- Fiddle with Adam Sutherland
- Guitar with Barry Reid
- Percussion with Fraser Stone
- Groupwork with John Somerville and Mhairi Hall
The workshops take place between 1:00 - 3:00pm and are open to ages 12-18, and for intermediate to advanced playing ability. After the workshops Mhairi Hall will work with the young musicians to prepare for a performance on the Speyfest stage on Sunday. Application form download from www.feisspe.org.uk
"Sing A Song" Sessions with Lizzie Sharp
Singing sessions for ages 5-12 in Scottish traditional childrens songs. Learn to sing the songs that Granny used to sing. They will run in the Institute on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 11.00am - 12.30pm with a performance during the Open Stage in the Festival Club on Saturday afternoon.
