Our plans for the 22nd Speyfest are well underway.
Already a stunning line-up of bands have signed up for the 2017 festival. These include Speyfest favourites the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and crowd pleasers Blazin Fiddles. Also making a return visit will be Manran who were particular favourites of Ewan McGregor when he made a surprise visit to the festival in 2012 and Elephant Sessions who wooed the crowds on their last appearance. Making their Speyfest debut are Talisk and Tide Lines.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers – “We can’t wait to get back to Speyfest in 2017 as it always has been one of the highlights of our year. You cannot beat a home crowd in that amazing setting. Our new show is so hot it carries its own health warning so we just can’t wait to bring it to Speyfest!”
The past few years have seen a number of new festival events including cookery demonstrations and a variety of drinks tastings. The gin tastings were extremely popular at the 2016 festival. 2017 will see the introduction of a ‘Celtic meets Country’ showcase and also a stunning young group from East Tennessee State University led by Dr. Jane MacMorran and her son Will both of whom who have appeared at Speyfest in the past. They will be part of a youth showcase.
