The band met in mid-2010 and since then have had a succession of busy months packed with highlights, only a brief selection of which include enthusiastic reviews from showcase slots at landmark events such as the NME’s Weekender Festival and GoNorth 2011 as well as receiving rousing welcomes from crowds visited up and down the UK and Ireland as a result of a tight touring calendar. Along the way the four-piece have had some great opportunities to nurture healthy relationships with both emerging and seasoned artists/organisations such as Ben Howard, Athlete, and London's now international Communion movement.
On top of this the band have enjoyed extensive press coverage at both a regional and national level: repeated airplay across BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music continues to be complemented by the support of media heavyweights such as The Scotsman newspaper whilst regional radio such as BBC Radio Scotland, Central FM and Absolute Radio subsidiaries work together with the student and local press to the band's interest. With one released EP and another set to follow in May 2012 Chasing Owls' live performance sees the intimacy and sensitivity of their recorded material meet with the exciting live energy and enthusiasm that together serves to match their reputation as a necessarily witnessed live act.
