The Fochabers Fiddlers
{@name}

The Fochabers Fiddlers are a dynamic young fiddle group made up of pupils from Milne’s High School in Fochabers and led by renowned fiddler James Alexander.

This energetic group has been in existence since around 1980 and are in demand to perform locally mostly for charities and fund-raising events. But over the years their reputation has spread with regular tours of America, Canada and many parts of Europe, exporting their own lively take on the traditional tunes of Scotland.

The band also has a Frontline made up of the more experienced fiddlers and along with James, they lead the group. Frontline was formed in 1999 to create an opportunity for the more experienced players to perform a contemporary Scottish/celtic mix of music on a more professional circuit e.g. theatres and touring shows. This aim has been well and truly fulfilled, the group having toured with the “Explosive Fiddlers”, as well as performing in many theatres both in Scotland and abroad. Frontline have an impressive track record having appeared in Edinburgh at Holyrood Palace for Princess Anne, shared the stage with many showbiz personalities and played a charity gig at The Royal Albert Hall to an audience of thousands.

Over the years, the Fochabers Fiddlers have produced a number of recordings which showcase their explosive style of playing.
