The Fochabers Fiddlers are an energetic young fiddle group aged between 12 and 17 years. The Fiddle Group was formed in 1980, the initial aim being to encourage young musicians to play and take an interest in Scots Traditional Music which is so much part of our heritage and culture. They were soon in demand to perform locally; mostly for charities and fund-raising events.

Since then, and under the leadership of James Alexander, the group has toured throughout the UK, Europe and North America. The Fiddlers record regularly on the Ross Records label and have, to date, released seven albums.

"The Fiddlers" has been the springboard for a number of bands that have gone on to tour and record in their own right. The group has played at every Speyfest since the first one back in 1996 and the current crop of youngsters drawn from the pupils at Milnes High School will be joined on stage by former members for what is always one of the highlights of the Survivors Ceilidh.
