Early in her stellar career, Eddi Reader left her roots in Glasgow to travel the well trodden road south to London to find fame with the highly popular band Fairground Attraction. Her vocal abilities quickly transcended the norm for big studio pop as she moved on to a solo career. What sets Reader apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance; her ability not only to move the listener but to connect her experience to that of her audience.

Eddi's release of an album of stunning interpretations of the Songs Of Robert Burns won huge critical acclaim that saw her awarded an MBE for outstanding contributions to the arts and motivated the University of Glasgow to award her an honorary doctorate in music.
